Are you endorsing a program users' boycott? No more upgrades for all complainers! I'll bet Equis/Reuters doesn't capture even 20% of the data vendor market (before buyout) vs. program sales share. This data format control is their sole leverage position to improve in that regard. Vocal users have spoken about this continually and what's come of it. Are they listening -- do they care? We've all learned the work-arounds with significant operational inconveniences as Sean points out. How would you suggest speaking to this specifically - a letter writing campaign? You should clearly see the market forces at play here and I think without a price viable alternative program (not GET, unfortunately) to take market share away from their program sales we're stucked (with an "F"). How's your programming skills for a new startup -- mine stink. Come on, Sean - ditch the good life at Cisco and lets get cracking on a real project.

if Equis wanted to help customer, they would make all important venders, Direct
read. They have a great product except for data handling.I would really like to
know what it cost to get that for a data vender. But the customer has to speak up or they will never change.

All,

I agree with Richard completely. I have complained to tech support and on the metastock list about these issues and have been largely ignored and given the lame corporate answer to the problem. I always call and report bugs. Most people never call and report problems
and let their voice be heard. You know who you are. Like it or not you are part of the problem and certainly not part of the solution. Like QP, with a little effort they could demolish their competition and would be so far ahead their competition. They would
be so shocked at the increased sales from support open standards for
data. The market has shown time and time again proprietary standards don't work and open standard do.... Its seems like inside each of the
capitalist CEO's mind there is a protectionist running loose.....
