Paul, AMD paid it's interest on it's senior notes yesterday. Thankyou AMD. Intel stronger in year 2001?...did you read the Byte "Slot Thickens" article Intel has to make a choice continue to sacrifice shareholders, operate at reduced profits, lower margins through price cuts. Or back off reward the shareholders and give AMD larger market share. In your opinion, Which will Intel do??
So far price cuts have not detered AMD from gaining reported market share. Do you believe Intel can force AMD out of business?? Personally I believe Intel is following a losing stratedgy. Intel looses revenue. Intel stockholders loose value. In same time period microsoft has gone from 80 to 155 while Intel has gone from 104 to 85. Micorsoft has much more more competition than Intel.
One day Grove and Sanders will wake up and see they have been giving away their technology. I may not buy AMD again untill it stops selling it's chip at a 25% discount to Intel. It's an loosing policy to persue.
