She had no idea she was about to be shot dead. As an experienced military person I am sure she had had at lease some training on when not to shoot someone.

She did not break down a door. There was a window broken out with the apparent approval of cops. She jump into the broken window as was shot dead in a fraction of a second. She was not armed and certainly never had a second to offer to surrender.
