I have zero problem with that... its literally a requirement for success when the odds are as tipped against you by the tilt of the playing field as they are. Elon vs the shorts pretty clear and convincing evidence of that minor morality play in the backdrop... as recent interviews in which he admitted that the clocks ticking toward expiry got pretty loud, and TSLA came pretty close to the edge... Probably only swagger that saved it ? My only quibbles with it relate to the link, or not, to the probability of success... which, thus far, has kept him in the game a lot longer than I'd estimated was probable. That out performance, thus far, is likely due in large part not to the swagger in itself... but to the elan with which Elon pulls it off... as you note, it not being all ego all the time, as with some others, but a willingness to be distracted enough by the task at hand in a pairing with self confidence... to not be distracted by the detractors and shorts... or the skeptics, like me. TSLA having survived the immediate crisis... still not a guarantee of success in a world with competition... but, survival is one obvious enough prerequisite to success. TSLA now at a point where time is not working against them quite as much as it was... which makes the swagger only a more potent tool... more given the generational differences in how it is valued. TSLA's bringing other distractions in house... now seems likely to rewrite the rules, again, more than it distracts them, as the clocks continue ticking. If the innovator survives... and preserves the trend in and pace of innovation while competitors only round the corner into viable first effort in the round one competition... I'll bet on the innovator, ego and all. Still not sure Cathy Wood really benefits from smoking all that crack she has been lately... TSLA $3K ? But, I guess asking "when" would be a reasonable question... more if you don't ignore where the market is now... ?
