The key phrase is "legitimate news". Which none of these seem to be. All of them seem to be rooted in Russian disinformation campaigns, except maybe those having to be connected to China. And even those don't appear to have a factual basis. The billion dollar China deal never existed. You might not be aware of anyone checking it out, I am sure that Fox News never carried it, but it was looked into and nothing was found. So the story was killed. Look, I understand your disappointment in the media that is not part of the wingnut echo chamber refusing to make a big deal out of made up bullshit. But that is the way things work in the real world. I grant you, sometimes they do. Y'all got some notable successes with Al Gore. But then the realization that your tribe deals with fantasies started to dawn on people. And they rightly are now skeptical and tend to check things out before running with them.

No one, AFAIK, ever asked Hunter Biden about the billion dollar deal he closed after flying on Air Force 2 to China and back with Joe. Biden was never asked about it AFAIK. The story was killed by the major media outlets.

Just because you don't know if anyone asked doesn't mean they weren't asked. You would only know they were asked if the press reported that they asked. And they would only report that they asked if they got an answer worth reporting.

Sure, they could have gotten something and killed it. But it's not logical to conclude that they killed it because you haven't heard that they asked.

Here, now you know that people DID look into it, and your 'facts' are WAY off:

factcheck.org

'Kaplan pointed to two large publicly traded private equity firms for reference, both of which have a market value of about 10% of the assets under their management. Using that as a rough guide, that would put the value of Hunter Biden’s share closer to $20 million, he said.

There are still some unanswered questions about Hunter Biden and his role in the BHR deal, and his attorney did not get back to us when we had follow-up questions. We don’t know details, for example, about the BHR representative’s claim to the New Yorker about Archer alone setting up a separate holding company apart from Rosemont Seneca Partners to make the initial BHR deal, though the fact that Hunter Biden used a separate corporation to acquire a 10% stake in BHR in 2017 may suggest he did not have any ownership stake prior to that.'
