Hi Kirk,

I quick little story about me and Amat.

In 2015, I has a small margin balance and I had transferred 10,000 shares of Amat. and 70,000 shares of Cohu to another account at Scottrade. I had begun to sell puts regularly and had been assigned the Amat by selling $10.00 puts. The account was called Options First and was designed to be better with options. Upon the transfer the shares although staying within Scottrade, the trades where executed by Interactive Brokers - which I had learned to like, but hard to read their statements. They did neat things like no commissions if you made the market with your order and accrued dividends,at announcement and then added them as cash upon the payable date. I also recieved excellent execution and alm,ost always got a better price than what I ordered it at!.

Within a month of the transfer Amat had gone up a point or three ($13.00 ish as I recall).

I told myself it was a nice trade and I had the ability to get completely out of margin.

Being a bit hard headed (per Jan that is LOL)I said to myself, if you are going to get out of margin, this was a good way to achieve it.

So I sold the Amat and have never been in margin since.

WOULDA COULDA SHOULDA and I'm just not going down that road.

I will say I have been really happy to not have any margin and able to reinvest any and all dividends received.

It seems to have really helped my account grow, by reinvesting dividends - no drip, but whatever is paying the best dividend yield and / or is dipping.

I always remember Cary Salzburg telling me I needed to diversify.

Thanks for the great chart.

Bob
