there were numerous times during the Mueller investigation when I stated on this thread or another than CNN and/ or WaPo were obviously lying, they turned out to be, and they never ate their words.

You are not the arbiter of what is or isn't absolutely a lie. You judge that only for yourself from your own frame of reference. The media use the real world as its frame of reference. They are not going to eat any words that have not been demonstrated in the real world to be a lie.

What I was trying to point out in my previous post with my suggestion about a public request for a retraction is that your claiming something to be a lie doesn't make it one. It's a difference of perception. If you publicly ask for a retraction, you essentially initiate an investigation of sorts, a mini-investigation, which forces each party to produce argument and evidence. If evidence is produced that they lied, the media would be shamed into admitting it. Unlike Trump, the media still have the capacity for shame. They couldn't duck it because the request would be hanging out there for all to see.

The risk in doing that is that, if the evidence supported the truth of what was published, then you and Trump could no longer get away with calling it a lie, which it probably wasn't or they would not have published it in the first place. It's not in his interest to adjudicate his claims and your claims of media lies. Your side would lose almost every time.
