Perhaps it happens where you are but not where I am. That's no excuse for your not being aware of it. Nor does it mean that it's not real. If it happens enough in enough places that it becomes a thing, then it's real where you are, too. I'd be amazed if responsible Black parents in either Arkansas or Houston don't sit their Black sons down and have "the talk." You, of course, would not likely be witness to that. BTW, hardly anybody in Washington comes from Washington. They mostly came of age somewhere else, including Arkansas, and had stories to tell.
