Lombard reporting 86K volume in first hour of trading, which is reasonably heavy for ANCR (avg according to Yahoo is 130K/day).

Any of those momentum-type short-term rags put out an ANCR recommendation recently? Wasn't there a short-term rec not that long ago that said to buy in the 5-ish range?

I'm just wondering whether this isn't another momentum play vs real news. The pessimist in me thinks the former, the optimist prays for the latter...

Alan:
Is there a volume component that accompanies a move over the 50 day MA? I still have more shares to buy back.....maybe a few well timed trades.......<G>
I guess I now see how the market makers can manipulate things.

Alan,

I'm not sure which way to go on ANCR. This power move has me wondering what news is out there that we don't know. As others have said, the stock appears to be telling us that something good is out there. Now, if we could find out for sure what it is...

I certainly agree that watching ANCR lately has been "interesting". Of course the big moves happen when (or because) I'm out of the office. <g>

I am curious as to when Ancor becomes a "real" company. <g>

Alan,

Some striking similarities from the posts last time we rose through the 200DMA.

FWIW last time we tested the 200 DMA was on June 10. We did not break through that day, closing at 7 1/4. The second day there was no pull back but still ANCR could not break through the 200 DMA (7 3/4) it closed at 7 11/16. The third day they scared everyone by dropping it a point but it closed virtually where it started. The fourth day it shot through the 200 DMA.

If history repeats itself ANCR will not settle back into the 6s. The MMs might try to flush out some weak hands and bring it down there briefly, but I don't think it will stick. IMO this stock is too volatile to get stuck at moving averages for long.
