Ouch! I was waiting for somebody to bring that up. It's supposed to be bad for the markets, you know. Paul Allen seems to have lost interest in Holmgren now, I sort of lost interest in him in the third quarter too. It's just a game.

On another somewhat lighter not, from www5.zdnet.com

Microsoft Enemies Coming From All Directions Eleven states subpoena Microsoft for documents relating to its Web browser as part of anti-trust investigations. The states are mining the same territory as the Department of Justice, which has a federal complaint pending against Microsoft over integration of its browser and Windows OS. But the action is just the latest in a mounting series of government and industry attacks on Microsoft's monopoly position. The Wall Street Journal reports anti-Microsoft lobbyists will soon unveil a coalition of at least 10 companies -- including industry heavyweights Sun, Netscape and Oracle -- ready to stand up to Microsoft. WSJ says the Software Publishers Association also plans to publicly denounce anti-competitive practices -- aimed squarely at MS. Strikes us as a grown-up version of pigpile.

Oink, oink. Couldn't happen to a nicer company, right? Still, the opposition and we the ilk are all doomed, fighting against the brilliant Bill and "Microsoft principles". Aka "standard Microsoft business practice", sorta like "The Jordan Rules", to circle back to sports.

Cheers, Dan.

P.S. I used to routinely post quotes from www.around.com, it's been awhile though. Always good for a laugh. My favorite is the "Chinese Wall", later amended to "Flying in formation". Another SMBP thing.
