cultivated my knowledge where it matters to me. This is a lot like home schooling, except you don't even have the parental influence to guide you. There is a reason that colleges have multiple teachers, each proficient in different areas and some proficient in what appears to be nonsense. The act of sorting through the diversity of views to find something coherent to your own life experience makes a person wiser than they can ever learn on their own.
