"Imagine if 80% of the attackers against Asians were white" Imagine that 80% of all attackers were "placed in a psychiatric hold at least once". We might even start putting money into mental health.

You likely have Trump to thank for Asian hate crimes. Trump demonized China as the source of most of America's problems. Most uneducated right wingers don't distinguish and will go after any Asian. I wouldn't be surprised if those who commit hate crimes are primarily conservative and libertarians. Don't you know, from the standpoint of the il-liberal mind, Asians are taking jobs away from many Americans? As a tutor, I would often have to console many of my Asian students after bring insulted by construction workers on the way home from school, being called "gook" and other racial slurs.
