Think of how much more money Intel could have made if they priced their CPUs $1000 higher (pick your favorite number here). Think of where the stock price would have been then.

It is obvious that you are not in the semiconductor industry and do not have an appreciation of the strategic long term vision that has made Intel so successful. Though not an exact example, you'll do well to remember how Apple products were priced under John Sculley and how Apple stock performed then and the long term consequences of such pricing - and Apple stock today,
