If you were working at the Pentagon would you drive through the traffic all the way to the White House to eat at the cafeteria? Of course not. But the Metro is quick and convenient. I'm not making this up: the Other Intern--the guy from UCLA she evidently told about her affair--met her over lunch a number of times when she was no longer working at the White House. See the interview with him from the UCLA student paper that someone posted here this morning. (And actually I've never lived in D.C., but do visit frequently.)
