I don't disagree with any of the points here, but I think it's also is part of the broader problem with this topic. It's either UFO's = aliens or UFO's = crazy people.

I think the focus should be on some kind of middle ground. From a scientific standpoint we want to understand the world and universe we live in and we need to explore that without prejudice to get to the truth (the scientific method).

I heard second hand about a guy who gets called in on occasion to do investigative work for the FAA. A couple years back he was looking into a report from O'Hare Airport in Chicago that they had a hit on the radar of something flying over the city a little faster than Mach 1 but with no sonic boom. I don't think he was able to come up with any kind of conclusion in his investigation, but If there is some legit technology to make this happen, and it could very well be of terrestrial origin, I certainly would love it if we could access it.

To quote Sherlock Holmes: "I know, my dear Watson, that you share my love of all that is bizarre and outside the conventions and humdrum routine of everyday life."

UFOs are never seen entering from space (like in all the movies), only ever as atmospheric phenomena.
