<!-- *** Good timing, re: SP500 *** -->

I've been very impressed by the performance of the SP500, breaking over resistance at 980. Now it seems like it wants to retest that as an area support. I think that once it does that successfully, the broad market will make further gains.

this ascending triangle pattern is very bullish:
chart4.bigcharts.com:80/chart?time=7&freq=1&uf=0&lf=4&type=4&style=3&size=3&maval=10&state=4&compidx=aaaaa&symb=SP500&ma=3&comp=&r=chart&sec=x&onbad=badsymbol&sid=3377&xyz=31176594&s=14443

Explains a lot why stocks across the board are doing so well now; confidence is returning to investors. I see no reason why this trend can't continue for the near term.

An aside note concerning the new email messages:
I was at first enthusiastic about this new development on SI, but now have my concerns. Stock information given on a one to one basis helps the average lurker not at all...and lurkers outnumber posters by a 4:1 or 5:1 ratio, I believe. If using private messages to pass along good information is used to avoid "flames", perhaps the information isn't so good to begin with. Why can't it stand up to public scrutiny?

I think there's a good use for the private message system, I just hope it doesn't undercut the purpose of SI.
