You are huffing and puffing for nothing. This is a win-win-win situation.

(1) Understand that there is a difference between manufacturing capacity and economic capacity. The latter is the operating capacity that results in the minimum costs. It is typically in mid 80% of the manufacturing capacity. Meaning that if you are producing less or more than that, each unit is costing you more than it could. Since the Western world is mostly vaccinated (at least for the first shot), and the developing countries cannot afford the Pfizer vaccine, then it stands to reason that Pfizer (and likely Moderna) are operating below their economic capacity and benefit from the extra orders that they sell at cost to the US government.

(2) The world is interconnected. Mutations that happen elsewhere will come to the US and bite us in the rear. So it is in the US interest to stop the pandemic everywhere as fast as we can.

(3) Biden is fighting off China in as many fronts as he can and one of the important fronts is in weaning off the developing world from China. PRC has been generous with its vaccine to the developing countries and winning footholds there. Biden is trying to counteract that. Try to look further than the quarterly report.

(4) You can always sell PFE if you don't agree with any of the above. I assume that you have made good money so far and can take those profits and reinvest them in PLTR or whichever company that ideologically agrees with you. But as I said, Pfizer is a beneficiary of this deal, or they would not have agreed to it.

PS This win-win-win attitude as oppose to win-lose attitude is one of the reason I approve of the Biden admin. They don't have everything right. And I must admit that prior to the election I didn't want Biden. But I have been happily surprised.

a "not-for-profit" price
I wonder if it comes with a "lost profit" tax deduction/write off of some sort.
