Christine:

Although I am against the death penalty I take that position only because the system is NOT perfect. I know that innocents have been executed and as long as the system continues, more innocents will be executed in the future. Morally, I consider this murder by the State. Since I place the individual above the State, I believe the State is criminal in its behavior to institute such an imperfect, irreversible system.

For those who are not innocent, however, the death penalty can be a form of justice. In the case of Tucker, she was a confessed murder and her conversion does not influence me because I believe organized religion is an irrational holdover from primitive societies and a form of madness all its own.

"How much can one person atone for in a lifetime?"
Much. It depends on the transgression.

"How much can a person change?"
It depends on the individual, the motivation and the inner need.

"Does watching someone die who killed your loved one really make you feel better?"
It obviously makes some people feel better. Probably depends on their psycho-epistemology.

"Is revenge sweet, or does it lock your soul into a low place?"
Depends on the type of revenge. Klingon revenge is probably the best.

Email Virus Alert

Here's a virus alert you may not have seen:

If you receive an email titled "JOIN THE CREW" DO NOT open it. It will erase
everything on your hard drive. Forward this letter out to as many people as
you can. This is a new, very malicious virus and not many people know about
it. This information was announced yesterday morning from IBM; please share it
with everyone that might access the Internet. Once again, pass this along to
EVERYONE in your address book so that this may be stopped. Also, do not open
or even look at any mail that says "RETURNED OR UNABLE TO DLIVERY" This virus
will attach itself to your computer components and render them useless.
Immediately delete any mail items that say this. This is a
very dangerous virus and that there is NO remedy for it at this time. Please
practice cautionary measures and forward this to all your online friends
ASAP.
