QZ........I too noticed that a BUYER stepped to the plate all day at 15. I believe that we are in an accumulation phase with another leg to 20 around the corner.

Nice observation.

From my limited knowledge, the tighter the range, higher the chance for a breakout.

qz,( and FD Jr from yesterday ):Re: Vivus trading pattern. I noted this too several days ago.As if somebody has developed a floor for this stock. What does it mean and why is it so. Honest answer: I don't know.
Can we guess? Yes. I'll try.Best & worst scenarios:

Worst 1st: Somebody, a short?, is artificially buying the stock below 15 ( or, previously, below 14 etc ), for the purpose of providing a false sense of security for hapless investors and lure them into a trap of buying Vivus. Then when they are all in the coup, they will start short selling again and drive it into the single digits thus forcing these new investors to panic and sell. What are the chances of this being true? I don't know. But if it is true, why have such a large Ask/bid discrepancy? If they wanted to lure in buyers they should have had the opposite: Highbid/ask ratio, drive the price up and then short sell it .Furhter more, by keeping the ask/bid ratio high they are actually discouraging investors from coming in.
So this scenario as Hall, in Odyssey 2000 said, " does not compute ".

Best scenario : somebody who wants to prevent the price of the stock from being tattered as it has been until now by short sellers, and wants people to REALLY feel secure in buying the stock, and ACTUALLY WANTS the price of Vivus stock to go up is providing a floor, and is actually buying IMHO all those shares ( if any ) that are either being shorted or are being sold by skittish investors. Question is who is that person (s)? Well you don't have too many choices:
a) a large Mutual Fund, with a large position, who plans to make a killing in 1-2 years with a double triple quadruple bagger.
b) Many large Mutual Funds conspiring. This is also known as a right
wing conspiracy against whom Hillary Clinton of cattle futures fame has so arduously warned the nation of in the last few days.
b)a large individual; (how tall is Jeff Vinick, and how much does he weigh?).Also, does he have a large wallett?
c)Vivus management buying back the stock, because they have a
" vested " interest( ie they don't like to drop their pants, no pun intended ).

Are all the above possible ? Yes, IMHO. But which is most likely?
My guess is the company, would have the most interest and single minded guidance to execute this.

Technically speaking, a slowly rising price, on low volume is bullish. It indicates few sellers, accummulation, basing. Vivus may never look back again.
All in my opinion only.A pure fabrication of TAs -still- fertile cerebrum and cerebellum, with no evidence whatsoever to back even a single word of it.Amazing!
