I've read a TON of nonsense to outright lies from people on SI about COVID-19 and the vaccines. I do not want to name names of who I think are fools (not you for sure) but they seem to be the same ones who doubt just about everything science says AND believe some of the scammers here are "real." With that said, I thought I'd pass this piece on that I found with a quick search that answers the question "How could anything developed this quickly be safe?" Visionary companies fueled the drive toward mRNA vaccines The current leaders HATE the drug companies so their rhetoric causes doubt... Insights from the fight against flu and HIV were crucial to COVID-19 success (Fauci was one of the leaders in finding HIV treatment. He would not kiss Trump's ring so the vain former president undermined the very leader he put in charge.) NIH investment in vaccine evaluation infrastructure pays off Thank-you Donald for "Operation Warp Speed" American government guaranteed purchases to speed mass production Again, Thank-you Donald Brave human volunteers They volunteered while Trump was president so they are worthless to "the agenda" now which is just about anyone not a Republican including the extremely biased social and traditional media. As for side effects from new vaccines.... you could inject 100M people with saline water and likely observe MANY of them having side effects... that is why "brave human volunteers" did a double blind study before this hit mass production. Sadly this has been weaponized for political gain since the start with the Democrats calling Trump a racist for wisely closing the borders and putting pressure on China to share real data. Recall Speaker Pelosi in SF in crowds saying it was not a problem and to come support the Chinese community in Chinatown just days before California shut it all down. So many have died needlessly due to the politics. That idea that ANYONE is stupid enough to vote for ANYONE who was in office (Pres. Trump or Senators Biden and Harris) when this started or who is in office now... blows my mind. uab.edu
