I figure the drivers with masks pickup people or want to use their mirrors at home to put on the masks, but there are still a few who wear masks while outside walking.

I stopped wearing them outdoors when hiking as soon as it was "legal" here but put one on in the car today before walking into a grocery store where everyone I saw was still masked.

Since I have an N95 with two elastic straps, it is easier to put on and be comfortable with a mirror to keep the straps catching hairs. I have many N95s left over so I'll probably wear them in stores for a few weeks to make sure the data shows no upturn in infections but that also keeps my Chinese girlfriend happy - masks were worn in Taiwan by sick folks long before Covid...

I've been watching the NBA playoffs and it is rather odd to seem some arena's full and open BUT they still have a lot of space between the players and the fans. Also, the players are still following strict protocols with I believe Chris Paul testing positive and perhaps out until Monday if he can have two consecutive negative tests - he has no symptoms.

Bottom line is most SMART people don't trust what the government tells us any more. Consider
  • They lied about the possible origin of the virus
  • They lied about masks not being necessary so they could use the limited supply in hospitals.
  • They lied about limiting travel was "racist" rather than a necessary and highly effective way to limit the virus.
  • They lied about the election and at best now will carefully admit there was cheating but the degree was not enough to change the results. (how do they know without a proper audit?)
  • Nobody seems to remember that the reason we locked down was to prevent hospitals from getting over loaded. It was supposed to mean move overall infections compared to letting it quickly burn through the population... they keep lying by omission....
  • They lie about the vaccines... of course ANYTHING put into your body will give a few a bad reaction. The real science is does getting a whole population vaccinated mean far fewer deaths? It does but most are selfish and would let their neighbors be the 70% that with the 10% naturally infected gives herd immunity even to the selfish 20%.
I could go on, but the bottom line is I paid $7 or so each for 20 non vented N95 masks and it is no big deal to wear them for a few trips into stores each week for a few more weeks.
