Still think the 3rd generation NG fuel cell is the missing piece for the transition to EV's. I am betting on a company called Advent Technologies Hldg Inc (ADN). They will be scaling their production by 2024 and I expect them to have one of their NG fuel Cells in Trucks/Autos to recharge batteries. May/Could even hook the system up to your home natural gas lines during the PM (and power your home).

So I expect oil/NG will be needed and the pipelines to deliver the NG to homes & businesses. Also, LNG is another way to transport the NG.

< In the meantime, someone will supply our gasoline, at a profit.> Reminds of 35mm film, less the profit part.

On a different subject, could underground pipelines be converted to conduits for HVDC transmission lines, at a profit?

Funny you say that.. similarly in Toronto )well GTA .. Greater Toronto area) NG is the heating fuel of choice.. they have no viable alternatives beyond nuke.. and they are closing nukes.. either they freeze in winter or the NG keeps flowing ... electric heating is prohibitively high cost in Ontario,,, it is major detractor for a home buyer...

However on EVs.. now that F GM and Volks are firmly on the bandwagon... 40 years seems a bit of a stretch... actually a big stretch...
