OFF topic reply Great post Bob..

I see nothing wrong with hunting for food and shelter.. it is natural... Some will say but why kill something when you can just go to the market.. well.. that is a weird thought in of itself... the free animal one kills for food had a free life as intended.. The cow/steer that provided the meat for the market... not likely even with our rising awareness .. Whenever my kids would fuss over some meat or fish I would simply say .. eat it.. something died so that you could live.. you need to respect that... forget religion.. there is something just plain wrong with wasting life...

killing things because they are inconvenient is also wrong... although deer culls resulting from our topic become required... lots of homeless/working poor can be fed... OK I make exception for mosquitoes and black flies...but mass killing them causes problems with beneficials..

I believe it has something to do with being closer to the land.. sadly even First Nations move away from that thinking as they modernize... You probably know I am not a fan of big mega cities... they are not natural either...

Ran into a speed bump on the new property.. VERY rocky I feel like a pioneer discovering what looks like good farmland is so rocky LOL... Tiller was choking ... So veggie garden while big by most city folks' standards is smallish this year.. Was just too much work so going forward I will be designing raised bed setup.. I tossed together a quick and dirty one for this season 4 yards of soil, 4x4s and fence board only as sidewalls...

previous owner had gout weed everywhere.. it is so horrible... and invasive... chokes everything out... so I am steadily digging up garden separating out pernicious gout weed from desirable plants and potting up desirables while making sure garden sees no new occurence.. gonna be 2 more summers till complete I figure unless that is my only focus,,, too many beautiful perennials to lose in a total eradication restart scenario,,,

I have a LOT of pots as old pal from GTA was a RE appraiser... took me to a busted grow op which he was appraising ... I got probably 1000 growers' pots of various sizes.. I won't run out LOL
