In the meantime, Team Israel reports in, and the news is not-positive and I am more concerned today than I was yesterday, as suspicion earlier seemingly revealed to be possibly true, that nothing works against rapidly evolving CoVid

IOW, the jab-after-jab approach is failing to work, and
the lock-everywhere-down cannot work for long, even as letting it burn through is asking for trouble, because we are effectively looking at different virus, much like lions and tigers, alligators and snakes, etc etc

Right ahead be school openings and winter flu season.

The BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine is less effective at halting the spread of the Delta variant than previous strains of coronavirus, according to a preliminary study by Israel’s health ministry.
Data collected over the past month suggest the vaccine is 64 per cent effective at preventing infection among those who are fully inoculated, the ministry has found. Efficacy against previous strains of the virus was estimated at 94 per cent.
However, the figures, first reported in the Ynet news portal, indicate the vaccine is 93 per cent effective against serious illness and hospitalisation.

News flow from UAE, a bit vague, but seems okay, not much fatality, nothing lockdown - what more should one want?

UAE Passes Seychelles to Become World’s Most Vaccinated

The Persian Gulf nation has so far administered 15.5 million doses, enough to cover 72.1% of its mostly expatriate population of 10 million based on a two-dose regimen. The Seychelles has administered enough doses to cover 71.7% of its population of just under 100,000.

Cases in the UAE have remained elevated, though. Last week, the U.S. raised its travel warning for the country to its highest level, citing a “very high level” of coronavirus. Saudi Arabia has temporarily prohibited travel and the UAE has been on a “red list” for travel to the U.K. since January.

Daily infections have hovered at around 2,000 since March from a peak of about 4,000 in February. The UAE, though, tests more people per capita than most nations and has one of the lowest fatality rates in the world.

And unlike other countries, the country has largely shunned lockdowns since emerging from one last year. While the oil-rich capital Abu Dhabi has announced some curbs and plans to restrict public spaces to vaccinated people from August, Dubai remains largely open.

Dubai, the financial hub of the Middle East, is preparing to host the delayed Expo 2020 international exhibition in October. The emirate is aiming for 25 million unique visits and hopes to generate billions of dollars in revenue.

The UAE approved Moderna Inc.’s vaccine on Sunday, while shots from Pfizer Inc. and AstraZeneca Plc are also available for use.

The country’s inoculation program, though, has hinged on Sinopharm, which is being produced locally. The government said it plans to offer a third Sinopharm shot to people who’ve already got two doses.

News from Seychelles, another centre of trials in progress, and the news is mixed

Seems to indicated mixing AstraZeneca with anything is faulty logic

If true, along with the news from UAE, then Pfizer vs AstraZeneca against Sinopharm is still a toss up

Of those five had taken Covishield and one Sinopharm

Island nation is the world’s most heavily vaccinated

The coronavirus has killed six fully vaccinated people in the Seychelles, which is suffering heightened Covid-19 infections despite inoculating a greater proportion of its people than any other nation.

Of those, five had taken Covishield, a version of the AstraZeneca Plc vaccine made in India, and one had been given Sinopharm, Jude Gedeon, the island nation’s public health commissioner said at a press conference on Thursday. Covishield has mainly been reserved for people over 60 in the Seychelles. All of those who died had serious underlying conditions, he said.
