Mohan, I think most of the buying was brokerage firms trying to stampede the cattle. That is all leveraged money, so it doesn't stay long unless the suckers buy in quickly. So far, it seems to be working.

I laugh when I see so many right wingers claim that the govt. is worthless. They post their notes over the World Wide Web, a govt. invention. -g- MB

Agree with you that the "dough flow" is not really attributable to the mutual funds. Last year, the buying power provided by stock buybacks exceeded the mutual fund buying by a significant amount. It will be interesting to see what the source of the current mad money is. Nothing like expanding the multiples even as business conditions deteriorate.
