I have Yamaha speakers in the ceiling with Klipsch in the lower range. Besides the hidden wires, we got a control system to run it so that there is only one remote (and we usually use an app on our phone anyway). It coordinates the audio with the video in a Dolby configuration, or just audio alone in 5.1 surround. The whole system is rack-mounted in a cabinet that is part of a bookshelf and opens to a closet in another room for rear access. My wife hasn't complained about picking up around my toys.
