MB, after the Pru initiations yesterday, something hit me...

...and after removing the wind-blown hot dog wrapper from my face I started thinking...

When Goldman dropped MU back around July 4, 1997, they dropped over a half-dozen chip stocks.

Other than MU, what other chip stocks have they initiated?

If they "initiated" other chip stocks, I certainly missed the call.

If the reason MU got "initiated" was because they brought in a new analyst, I would think that his or her coverage would move beyond a single issue. And yet, it's been roughly 7 weeks since MU was initiated by its lead underwriter as a priority list buy two days before the December options expiration.

Assuming they haven't initiated any other coverage, is this something you (or anyone else) would find unusual - dropping coverage of a number of stocks in a sector and then initiating a single stock and no other?

Good trading,

Tom
