<Murder, Abortion, War> <Soapbox alert> IMO, most of you guys just don't get the big pic. 1. Murder occurs because our men, generally speaking, have no empathic awareness of other people's feelings. There is no fear of retribution in committing such an act, because of this, too, and so capital punishment serves no purpose except to continue to make us Americans look like total idiots to the civilized world. I live in NYC. I see people I know are murderers every day on the street. They could really give a s**t about law. Capital Punishment just makes them heroes in jail. It makes them cool. Come on. Let them rot in jail. Better yet, let's make them think about what they've done through effective counselling. (Read carefully, effective counselling). Give them a Bible or a Koran, if you have to. Make them suffer until they achieve empathic awareness. Then let them rot in jail with a conscience. God will provide all the retribution. 2. America was one of the first countries to provide freedom of religion. Calls to force religious views on people through the outlawing of medical procedures violates this right. I would encourage those who wish to force their religious views on others to move to a country which respects their religion as law. Have a nice RMIL day. Jeff
