Perhaps it is to "eliminate the competition" or even enhance the gene pool by eliminating certain types. Some who believe in a higher power or a supernatural being would say viruses are punishment or a way of handling over population that causes global warming by lowering the population. Sadly, if that is true than the supernatural being kills with a very wide brush but maybe some spiritual types believe they will be saved or go to a better place if they are eliminated. So very complex. I compliment you on your patience...

Paul Krugman wrote a good piece on this recently -- seattletimes.com It's so absurd, there literally are people cheering if they think there are deaths from vaccines, cheering disinformation about vaccines not being effective enough, etc. What's next? Cheering any chemo therapy which is no longer effective? Parkinson's medication stops working? And after that? Bring polio back? Small pox? Measles? Mumps?
