Chowder - thank you for this update. In reading all of the notes, on replacing T in my portfolio and it's yield, over the last few months and doing the research to replace T, as I didn't want to go through the change, I decided to replace T with:

UTG, GOF, IRM, PM, PTY, UTF and CCD. As you have pointed out with the combination of these stocks and CEF's I have replaced the 7%+ yield. My goal for this portfolio is the cover and build income to cover my RMD and then some so this group will continue to do this and spread the future potential over many companies instead of 2.

Oh, and as you and others including DVK have suggested, I sold after the Ex Dividend date and was able to get the 3rd quarter dividend and also some of the above dividends / capital gains over the next few months.

Thank you again for your continued tutelage.

Re: Older Folk Portfolio ... Add On Buys.

A few dollars hit the account today, a little over $3,000 was available for reinvestment. I decided to add $1,000 each to the following positions.

CCI .. CE .. SYY.

These are relatively new positions and with the additional $1,000 that brings them up in size to:

SYY ... $11,008
CCI .... $10,889
CE ..... $10,415

I was looking for a Chowder Number of 10 and above.

SYY has a 2.56% yield, a 5 year dividend growth rate of 8.15% providing a Chowder Number of 10.71.
CCI has a 2.74% yield, a 5 year dividend growth rate of 8.35% providing a Chowder Number of 11.09.
CE has a 1.78% yield, a 5 year dividend growth rate of 15.04% providing a Chowder Number of 16.82.

I will be adding more to these same companies over the next few weeks as more dividends hit the account. I want to bring them up to $20,000 each as soon as possible.
