If you overlay SFAM's 100 day chart with CMOS you'll find they are almost identical. Both hit lows around 19 and both are now right near 30. The only difference is the recent rebound. CMOS was somewhat gradual, SFAM just did it all in one day. I think SFAM was just a little late to the party and is just making up for it.

Most of the other big names also show the same kind of chart. CMOS and SFAM have little to do with each other except being in the same sector so I don't think there is anything mysterious in SFAM's current price. Actually, the only thing mysterious to me is why it got so cheap in the first place and why it lagged so much in recovering.

John,

Re:"Craig, That's a great story but I'd like to find a solid reason for today's advance."

Could just be SFAM playing catch-up with some of the other equipment(0.25 micron) plays. Check this out:

John << so I am thinking either serious takeover rumor or major short
covering. Shorts will buy at any price when they want to cover.>>

Its not short covering. The short interest was only 60% of an average day's trading. Today's volume was 500% of an average day's trading.

Takeover rumor is most likely.
