Mike:
Well, you and I share the same position on this, but I am trying to give the 6-day creationists a chance to explain their position. You make some good points. As far as time is concerned, I now have a book by Dr. Russell Humphreys entitled: Starlight and Time, Solving the puzzle of distant starlight in a young universe. I will be reading this and report back to you, if you are interested in their position. Basically, I believe they are claiming a 'bounded' universe with our sun near the center. This means that if the universe were 'stretched out' at the creation, that we would enjoy instant starlight. An interesting finding is that they claim the Hubbell telescope failed to encounter the large number of red-shift stars that they were expecting to see in the more distant reaches of the universe. Another perplexing problem: If the center of galaxies rotate faster than the external arms, why are the spiral arms still visible after millions of years of rotation?
I go back to my first question: have you observed say large areas of tertiary lying beneath say ordovician with no evidence of overthrust deformation? Dr. Kimball cites the Lewis Overthrust in Montana and Alberta as an example. Very large block of stuff with reverse order stratigraphy. Perhaps I should post this elsewhere, but wanted to hear some comments from you guys. Please, don't flame me. I'm just attempting to see where truth lies.
Take care,
Lee
