Most of us on SI are tech focused, but I stumbled on this one a few years ago (2015 or 6 actually), and it was a turkey for a long time, but today it is (I think) a fantastic investment idea.

UAN - it's an MLP that owns two fertilizer manufacturing plants in the US.

It looks like it has done well in the past year... about 5x gain! It seems many others agree with you.

IT looks like they cut the dividend for awhile and are now back paying.
The price of corn has increased a lot this year, and the price of fertilizer has also increased a lot (about double last year's price). Meanwhile input costs to make fertilizer have not gone up, so UAN is going to produce a lot of free cash flow.

I still see corn at 2 or 3 ears for a dollar on sale here. I got 6 for a buck this summer with a coupon at Safeway once.

How labor intensive is making fertilizer?
