Well reasoned and probably correct. I just think the overall market tone has changed and we will not see the explosive growth rates of recent years. Everyone is now saying the Asian Crisis is over. I don't believe it. The Asian PANIC may be over but the world wide effect will be felt for years and it will affect our markets and perceptions.

George, some posts on the thread have disparaged the value of the work force at DEC, especially the service personnel. In this economy where trained tech personnel are so scarce, I don't think cpq could even assemble a top-notch service organization even if they were willing to take the time and spend the money which would be prohibitive. dulane

George - Isn't it funny that initially many on the so called 'Street' seemed to pan the merger, and a week or two later the stock rips??? Just goes to show you that you have to make your own judgements and then stick by your convictions. It's one reason I don't watch CNBC much anymore, just toooo many talking heads to confuse the listener....
