Message 33465218 People don't seem to understand how education birth's humanity, everywhere and for all time. It gives people empathy and "knowledge directed perception". i.e. we cannot see what we do not understand. Education gives people glasses to better see reality. Why there are so many Republicans, those people, the base, does not see what a bunch of criminals and lunatics their leaders are and pundits, like FOX. We saw huge gains in Afghanistan when the number of school girls went from 0 to about 3.5 million, and where women in the work force went from close to zero to 40% or so, and where the political system had as many women as we have. Those are HUGE gains that few seem to see and would have spawned humanity and civil societies around the entire region as time went by. We and the world was getting a good return on our money when considered in that context! Now we are back to near ground zero, as those we helped will now be living with targets on their backs, especially the kids an women!!
