name-calling is a 'no-no' in our house," writes Chris Bahret of Northern Virginia.
"And most of the time, they abide by it. The
exceptions can sometimes be humorous, though, and
it's tough to scold when you're trying not to chuckle.
"A few weeks back, my wife called me with the
daily update from the homefront. It seems my
5-year-old son and 4-year-old daughter, at times
affectionately referred to as 'baby,' had a little spat.
My son called his sister a 'pig.'
"She would have none of that, and retorted by
calling my son a ... gulp ... a 'Bill Clinton!'
"That proved almost cataclysmic, as my son
gritted his teeth and vollied back; 'Baby, don't you ever call me a Bill Clinton!'"
