No, they are not all education, all religions are myths with no scientific basis whatsoever, so all they teach are myths via indoctrination, which means they teach fairytales.

It was not religion that spawned modern civilization, it was the collective education of the world as explained so well in my favorite book of all time:" The Axe Makers Gift", of which I have given dozens of copies to people over the years telling them if you only read one book, this is the one to read. .

I don't mention a curriculum because I am not talking about a specific curriculum, or even a specific vehicle, I am talking about education in general, around the world, as it has evolved over the years, from say public schools starting at Kindergarten and continuing through most state colleges.

Religion is not taught in these institution for the most party, science, history and logic are taught, and anyone who looks at history should be able to see how much smarter people are today than say even 100 years ago when public education became the norm for all children, or ,200, 300 or 3,000 years ago just by eyeballing it.

As James Flynn says, :" we have gained 60 points in IQ over the last 100 years or so and gone from concrete thinkers to abstract thinkers.

Afghanistan will devolve into a terrorist Narco state with pervasive starvation, wanton killing, and general destruction; because they have no idea how to run a country; and people will flee by the thousands and it will be a headline story that hurts the Democrats for a long time, as the Republican demagogue it.

Koan, you are clearly well-intentioned and mean well. The repetitious insistence on "education" lacks nuance and connection to the reality the rest of us live in. Christian universities? Religious studies? Ashrams? These are all "education". You never mention a curriculum but I suspect what you have in mind is something Judeo-Christain Western-centric - you might not want people learning some skills.

Betsy De Vos and Ben Carson? Dick Cheney? These people were "educated" in some sense. Education makes these people better and more open to egalitarian or progressive new ideas?

Not in my experience. Getting a BS, MS, or PhD in some science like aviation or chemistry doesn't make you a nice person, though it doesn't necessarily preclude it - and yet one may still go on to bomb or gas people - if not personally, through the natural deployment of one's work.
