One must always control their ego and consider the feelings and mental maps of the audience if you want to win the broader war. In the larger sense you bring up about words that matter, I am sensitive to others' reactions to words. For example, I will change my vocabulary to The Washington Football Team and the MLB Cleveland Guardians because the majority of decendants of Native Americans deserve my respect for their feelings. Also, I reject the old straight vs. gay binary thinking and framing. This is a big change based on modern gender science knowledge unavailable when I was in school. It is a new frame for how our laws go forward, and how the US can lead the world in freedom for all. When it comes to capital punishment or government abuse of force, or dealing with potentially deadly poverty, I am pro life. When it comes to the meaning stated in the Declaration, "Life Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" I am pro life. The RW does not and must not own the term "life." Similarly, IMHO, it should never be "pro-life" vs. "pro abortion." It should always be pro-choice vs. anti choice. The arguments about when life starts should always be based on science and not "faith." Blind faith also erases (RW cancel culture?) all discussion about these matters. P.S. All those "originalists" with their bibles and strict constitutional interpretations, cannot show me where the bible, constitution or early founder's writing indicated "life" begins at conception.
