Addi:

"Anyone cares to speculate as why AMD has decided to shut its doors to the analysts..."

Because AMD's management no longer has any credibility.

Addi: You have to understand that the source for many of CNBC's stories is the "Tooth Fairy"! In the case this story is correct, I think it is just Jerry's way of claiming Executive Privilege.

I mean, like, suppose Tom Kurlack belched "How's the 25 coming Jer?" Or Erica creeked, "How's the old Cash Flow coming along?" Those answers would make a good AMD'er croak!!

Hey, it's just my opinion. Herb

Why no AMD participation in analyst conferences ?

Two possibilities: First, either something big is in the works (e.g. an acquisition), or, 2nd, things are getting REALLY bad, and there is concern that anything said could become gist for a future lawsuit.

It smells more like the second choice, this is not a typical action to take leading up to an acquisition. From what I have heard, AMD's continued existence could be in jeopardy pending a cash infusion, acquisition, resolution of yield problems or successful move to 0.25 micron with good yields. Time will tell.
