The moderates had it wrong in 2009 but I don't think they have it completely wrong now. As usual, the Ds are being rhetorically stupid. They need to assuage people that they won't cause runaway inflation and we know that there will be some inflation that could look scary in the near term. We don't want to scare people before the 2022 election and a $3.5 trillion number is easy for the Rs to use to scare people. I think they should cut it to a 5 year $1.9t plan. Get a vote now for a 5 year less scary looking plan that will look like it costs less and use it to retain majorities in Congress in 2022. In 2024, when hopefully the plan is working to get the economy running well and employment numbers and wages up and people are happy with the Democratic plans that the Rs panned, then we can get another plan going that will help ensure that the Ds win the 2024 election too.

That is what I think.
