True, that REITs are tax nightmares in taxable accounts.

I have them in IRAs and an annuity that I opened decades ago when I wanted fixed income and deferred taxation.

REITS were a great buy if you timed it well during the Covid sell-off but so were stocks as you are well aware. They both roughly doubled off the low.

My guess is with regression to the mean, stocks will out perform going forward a few years... but I still hold and can take profits in stocks if they go higher than use some of the cash to add to trailing positions, perhaps REITs.

My goodness there are some idiots on Biden's staff.

This reply should make for a good SNL premier skit... maybe have a tooth fairy pay the taxes for corporations so they don't pass on the higher costs to consumers.
