Why do you have so much faith in the news coming from the government? Especially news from a developing country's government that is notorious for corruption, incompetence, and apathy.

I'm fine with what you wrote. You didn't attack anyone or link to sites that are not reliable. You are one of the nicest people I know here and you do well stating your opinions without bashing others. Well Done! There is far too much these days that doesn't pass the smell test. I was attacked relentlessly by my left leaning "friends" when I said NONE ( big fat ZERO) of the models for global warming correctly bracketed simple observations we saw in the second have of the twenty teens.... I argued they should fix the models and understand WHY they were so wrong because my very large experience with modeling says once you go outside your parameters and data models can literally blow up such as the extreme weather events we are seeing now in the early twenty twenties. Was it fly ash from China's coal use that absorbed extra CO2 in the Indian Ocean and S. China Sea as one study from China suggested? Sadly, one side wanted to keep selling fossil fuels untaxed for their harm on the environment while the other side wanted to put these people out of business without regard for how this would make for massive inflation and hurt the very people they claim to represent. Then we have a guy far too old to be the president of a nation that thrives and wants to continue to lead the world on innovation. His first major foreign policy action made 20 years of sacrifice worthless as he ignored some of his generals who said to keep SOME ground forces in Afghanistan. Then he had to lie about this and his own media organizations that were so happy to have Trump gone call him out for this by not accusing him of lying, but saying things that are "not true." This pandemic seems no different. Trump should have asked Obama to lead the US rather than Pence so it would be bipartisan. This is his largest failure with his asking for $57B extra for the military and not spending to be prepared for the real threat, a pandemic, a slightly smaller but close second failure. Now for good reason nobody trusts what we're being told. Even the lefties don't trust their leaders when we're told to mask up indoors then find they (Pelosi hair treatments, Newsom party meals, SF Mayor London Breed multiple infractions.... ) then all get caught not following their own rules. I could go on about how I am amazed so many treatments that may work well are not getting the dollars to study. One of the studies even made 60 minutes but what happened since? losaltosonline.com I looked it up on the clinical trials site and my reading of the results is the one study had fantastic results... so why no follow-up? clinicaltrials.gov You would think the insurance companies would sponsor more trials but... the government PAYS them if people get COVID so they make money from it... I just watched the final season of Goliath... what a great show and he went after the drug industry in season four and proved they knew a drug was addictive while giving out free samples to people to get them hooked, much like smoking... newsweek.com If you like movies like The Maltase Falcon and other film noir movies, then I highly recommend this series, especially season 4. Time to get ready to go eat lunch out at a place that is so popular for dim sum we will try going the very early lunch route... and on Saturday so I can watch the 49ers on Sunday.
