>>Is the pump over? Has the dump begun?

IMO it has indeed begun (as of today, but with a nod to our own Thomas B's analysis a few posts ago that it might have begun yesterday), but questions even more important are:

1) What about option expiration? We all know that the big trick is making sure the option sellers get the most from their money, which does not necessarily mean the highest number of open interest.

2) What about the rest of the market? MU is in lots of the automatic program trading baskets. Some broad-market analysts whose advice has made me some money say that this breakout to new highs (S&P 500) can run for a few weeks. MU could be a part of that.

3) What kind of drop should we expect? Straight up and straight down, a la summer '97, which would be the ultimate *fin* to Thomas B's excellent compare-and-contrast posts? A period of distribution of days or weeks, a la most of the airline stocks lately? (Not likely for MU, not with the volume being flung around lately!) Or a sustained, moderate drop a la 42-22 from autumn 97. I must say I like the idea (Skeeter Bug? Patrick K?) of long-term, out-of-the-money puts, with a few short-term calls in case of one final giant middle finger to the shorts (which is what the 45-60-45 run in July/Aug actually looks like on the graph!).

I gotta ponder my options (!) and I think I'll enter a play tomorrow.
