I have to agree with Logain's original assertion here, as obtaining a new patent for Ivermectin at this stage would be basically impossible based on prior art. It's already difficult to get patents for re-purposed drugs, but in this particular case, there is so much public domain information out there already, it would be insurmountable. It boils down to there's no money to be had here.

I do find it ironic how much media buzz and stir and excitement there is over the new Merck drug, vs. how much censorship and outright vitriol there is towards ivermectin. Most of those opinions are based on complete ignorance in both cases, and completely shaped by the media and message this administration wants the populace to hear. People should think long and hard (and search and study all the data behind both of these examples as well) about all the reasons behind that, and how we got to this state.
