Agreed. Humans crave their ability to act independently, even if they choose to comply with social norms. So the "freedom" thing, and that would include the right to privacy, is supreme. You cannot mandate creativity or an inspired human being who grows in a way for the greater good. That simply does not happen.

So, I am sure Xi and others know this already. It's a matter of choosing Kabuki theatre role so that such a result is brought about. No easy task.
