Let's take a minute to raise a glass to the soap opera that is the Clinton administration. May they give us the grand spectacle of impeachment, trial and conviction....

Hello.. according to this article, Mithraism and Christianity were severly at odds with Christianity winning out... by a nose! An interesting read:

mayn.franken.de

I will confess that I wasn't familiar with this apparently widespread and powerfully influential belief system which goes back 6000 years... the struggle to wipe it out completely must have been very determined or else we'd read more about it like we do about Roman and Greek myths (myths... a religously neutralizing word).

One thing, to me, is certain in my reading of religons and human history. Its that its been a constant battle for sociopolitical & economic mindshare, sometimes embracing and linking many cultures, sometimes operating more for the exclusion and supression of all others. God is always on the side of the victor, the victor eventually writes that version of history which proves believing and obedience in itself is God's wish.
