Those are great "anecdotal results" but of course it is still a small sample size. One reason for large studies is:

I think the death rate of ALL who get COVID is 1.9% which probably means those with BMIs over 35 and some other conditions like being over age 85 take a good percentage of those. SO the engineer/scientist in my head might say the death rate for someone with a BMI under 35 and age under 70... who get it could be 0.5% or even much lower if young.

Assuming your friend isn't treating anyone in retirement homes.... That means you'd on average expect one death in 200 who get it. Your and your MD friend's results for avoiding death COULD be the same from giving sugar pills.

Of course the data from other countries seems to indicate ivermectin is much better just as several other drugs seem to do the same including an antidepressant a neighbor discovered works and he got on 60 Minutes for it.

Also, your grandson sounds like he had symptoms similar to what I got in December 2019. I did yoga rather than weights and am a lot older. No major headache but my cough and aching body was bad for a few days but the severe cold meds from Costco seemed to clear the worst of the symptoms in a few days but I kept taking them until my cough wasn't waking me up at nights, etc... If I had a PCR test that said I had COVID, then I could have hired a goddess healer to have Odin bless me and burn sage to cure me and make the claim THAT is what cured me... where it was simply I started exercising outdoors during the winter a few years ago TO GET MORE VITAMIN D to help my immune system work better. I also take a "Mature Adult" vitamin from Costco that has Vitamin D and zinc. I also eat a lot of unprocessed red meat, chicken and fish so I get plenty of zinc naturally.

Anyway, it is great news fewer are dying and it APPEARS we have good, low cost, repurposed meds to do it, but the science as far as I'm concerned is far from "proven."
