As for the downgrade from buy to outperform by the a**hole analyst at Lehman Bros. (which is still a good recommendation), he had no clue about the next 6 months until the president of the company spoke up.

Are you talking about the comment in the press release

Until then, we face the ongoing challenge of balancing the demands of managing our new business bookings activity, of significantly growing our project related capabilities and of continuing the roll out of HNA Millennium. Overall, we anticipate Cerner's operating results will show steady improvement as the 1998 year progresses, resulting in another year of strong financial performance.''

...or did you get the info from somewhere else?

I haven't called the investor relations dept. but I'm sure there's a conference call. I'd love to listen to it.

I've noticed volume in CERN has been quite a bit above average for the last several sessions. Today so far, the it's up 1/4 on 1.2mm shares. This is a stock that normally trades somewhere near 275k shares daily. So, how about some wild, unfounded speculation...

I think there may be some institutional buying. I've noticed several large block buys today and, although it hasn't moved the price much, big buyers at intermediate term lows in stock price seem to be right, more often than not. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see an analyst upgrade in the next week. (That was the conspiracy theorist in me) :-)
