That is good advice.

Believe it or not, I've already started doing that... decades ago!

During the pandemic collapse, I moved some of our most volatile IIVI stock that was down HUGE into the ROTH... of course my GF doesn't remember this but never forgets stocks that don't go up right away. <grin>

I also did some conversions during years I had nearly zero income during bear markets after the internet bubble collapsed and I was working for stock options that collapsed. 20 years later, that looks really wise!

My plan once I get onto Medicare is to pretty much fill up the lower brackets and maybe use the $ to remodel my house and/or convert to the ROTH.

Back when I had the Suite101 investing forum in the early 2000s, there were several of us that talked about these strategies.
