I think becoming a foundry will restore Intel to leadership eventually.

How do you have confidence that they will regain manufacturing technology leadership as a foundry?

Isn't Intel's big problem that they are now XX years behind TSMC is semi manufacturing? The lead, once lost, is seldom "regained", right?

I don't see how "becoming a foundry" allows Intel to leap ahead of TSMC and other edge leading foundries.

Like I said a long while back, Intel should spin off or sell its fab unit. The company is better off as two separate entities than one.
